The ambient paradigm misunderstands the depth and necessity of our conscientious relationship with the land, each other, and ourselves. Regenerative stewards along the Front Range of the Rockies are already working to turn the great wheel of culture back towards the ground, towards right relationship with that which nourishes us, towards reweaving kintimacy of place.
There have been enough dystopian media and draconian solutions.
There have been enough abstract discussions and despairing idealists.
We don’t need more Doomsdays.
We need more Life-days —
days we turn the dark fragrant soil and plant seeds with our kin,
days we spend sharing songs and tending each other’s gardens,
days we walk the land together and talk story and break bread.
While we’re at it, we need more Life-nights —
nights we keep tender vigil for the birthing and the dying,
nights we dance and deliver our illusions to the Great Mystery,
nights we hold each other’s hearts and hands and dream of those yet still to come.
It’s time to move together in the humble ways that most glorify Life.
Like clever mycelium, we are connecting the nourishment and wisdom that sustains us, sharing intelligences and labors across the community ecology. We are coming together because we are ready, and it is time.
The only way to weave a More Beautiful world is together. Who’s in?
